General Motors Takes Top Honors at Detroit Auto Show
Posted by: Lisa N. | Jan 14,2008

General Motors is celebrating today- they were named the winners of the North American International Auto Show’s 2008 coveted North American Car of the Year award. The winning car is General Motors’ Chevy Malibu. The Detroit auto show’s judges include almost 50 journalists from trusted news sources like Forbes, Road & Track and Edmunds.
In order to be considered for Car of the Year, a car must have an extensive redesign from the year before. The GM Chevy Malibu has a five star frontal crash test rating. Engines choices include four cylinder, four cylinder hybrid (available early this year) and V6. The base price is just under $20,000 and includes OnStar with Turn by Turn Navigation for one year. The Chevy Malibu is made in Kansas and Michigan. The Malibu comes with the Chevy 100,000 Mile/5 Year Transferable Warranty plus Roadside Assistance and Courtesy Transportation. Last year, GM’s Saturn Aura won Car of the Year at the Detroit auto show.
Earn rewards points that you can use to get a discount when you buy the car of the year, or any car or truck with the GM Flexible Earnings credit card. The GM rewards credit card gives you rewards you can use to buy a new car.
