Save Money on Gas
Posted by: Lisa N. | Jan 15,2008
You can save money on gas when you plan ahead. There are several ways to save at the gas pump. Here are a few of my favorites:
Never fill up on a holiday or during a weekend if you can help it to save money on gas. Gas prices traditionally rise on the days when road travel is more frequent. Try to buy gas in the middle of the week to save money.
Look for the cheapest gas prices on gasoline comparison websites like GasBuddy.com. GasBuddy.com provides real-time cheap gas prices for cities and towns in the U.S. and in the Canadian provinces. You can also sign up on the website to provide input on cheap prices for gas in your area.
Many grocery stores have their own gas stations now. You can save money when you buy gas from a grocery store where you have a rewards card. This varies by store but I usually get .10 cents off per gallon when I fill up at my grocery store’s gas station.
Get a gas rewards credit card so you can get cash back or free merchandise every time you get gas. A rewards credit card will reward you for all of the purchases you make when you use the card. A gas rewards credit card gives you extra points when you fill up at the sponsoring gas station.
