Before You Apply for Car Loans or Shop for Cars
Posted by: Sally S. | Feb 27,2008
Before you shop for cars or try to apply for a car loan, make sure that your credit report is in order. Your credit report and your credit score impact your ability to get a car loan and your ability to get the best rates for car loans. If you work on improving your credit history before you apply for a loan, you’ll be in a better position to get approved and buy the car you really want.
Order your free credit report and make sure that there are no mistakes or old unpaid debts in your credit history before you apply for an auto loan. Credit reports often have mistakes and they are easy to fix- you can usually get your credit report updated just by filling out an online form at the credit bureau’s website. Pay off any old debts that negatively affect your credit score.
Continue to pay more than the minimum on your credit cards to reduce your overall debt before you apply for an auto loan. Pay all of your bills on time and work to increase your available amount of credit, which also improves your credit score.
Apply for car loans at LowerMyBills.com. LowerMyBills.com lets you compare auto loan rates from multiple lenders.
