Celebrity Entrepreneurs: Gwen Stefani Makes Her Mark

Gwen Stefani has become one of our favorite celebrity entrepreneurs. The singer first rose to stardom fronting her ska band, No Doubt. She broke through the stratosphere when she went on her own and started releasing CDs under her own name. In addition to singing and performing all over the globe, Stefani also saw the many lucrative benefits of mainstream celebrity appeal through mass merchandising.

 

Gwen Stefani released her own line of fashions and accessories, L.A.M.B (“Love, Angel, Music. Baby.”). L.A.M.B. fashions have a smart, street-wise sensibility that quickly made the clothing line a best-seller. Stefani helped hype the brand by giving away freebies to her celebrity friends.

 

Stefani went on to introduce the Harajuku Lovers line of merchandise, named for the stylish Japanese girls whose wild style can be seen on the streets of Tokyo. The Harajuku Lovers line includes underwear, a camera and accessories for cell phones. Stefani later introduced a line of dolls featuring the cute styles Stefani wears on stage. Stefani even has her own line of perfume.
